2021 Ford EcoSport

This year's EcoSport is available in four trim levels: S, SE, Titanium, and SES. All trims are available in a wide array of fun color choices such as Race Red, Lightning Blue, Luxe Yellow, and the classic shades of black, silver, and white. The base-level S includes amenities such as power mirrors, halogen quad-beam headlights, and a convenient capless fuel filler door. When you upgrade to the SE, you'll get a power moonroof, fog lights, and roof rails.

Exterior upgrades on the third-level Titanium trim include stylish chrome beltline molding and roof side rails, and the black molding on the top-tier SES trim looks upscale and classic. Grille designs vary between the trims, as do the standard wheel sizes.

All trims of the 2021 Ford Ecosport, with the exception of the SE, come standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with auto start-stop technology. This engine is available as an option on the SE trim, but the standard engine is a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine. The EcoBoost engine is turbocharged, designed to produce the same power and performance as the larger engine with 30% more fuel efficiency and less greenhouse-gas emissions. Both are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The SE trim is the only trim in which front-wheel drive is standard, but four-wheel drive is an option. Ford's Intelligent four-wheel-drive system is standard on the other three trims. This automatically senses the road conditions and distributes power where needed. All trims include the wiring needed to prepare for towing, and despite its compact size, the EcoSport can tow a maximum of 1,400 to 2,000 pounds, depending on its configuration.

The S trim comes with manual, single-zone air conditioning, but all other trims include electronic automatic temperature control. The three upper trims also have a stylish leather-wrapped steering wheel with buttons for setting the audio and cruise control, and on the Titanium and SES trims, the steering wheel is heated.

As far as tech features, the base trim includes Ford SYNC on a 4.2-inch display. The rest have an 8-inch touch screen along with the SYNC 3 infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a voice-activated navigation system and access to Sirius XM radio. All trims have FordPass Connect and a 4G Wi-Fi hot spot.

All trims of this year's EcoSport include a rear-view camera, along with head restraints and airbags to protect every passenger. Upgrade to the second-tier and above, and you'll have a reverse sensing system and blind-spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert.
